Post *NEW* Unofficial: Erzsébet JPC Victory May - August 2009  Reply with quote
Erzsébet
JPC Victory Token: May - August 2009

FRENCH VERSION
Erzsébet
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ENGLISH TRANSLATION: *
Erzsébet (Elizabeth)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Beaten, bitten, burned, lacerated, disfigured, mutilated, starved then exposed naked and pale to the wintry cold of the Carpathian Mountains of Hungary, the hapless prey of the Bloody Countess were counted in the hundreds. Today, the contemptible cameo of Elizabeth, soaked with the blood of so many deceased children, would be always rest with the Countess in her tomb within the castle of Cachtice…
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If the Character equipped with “Elizabeth” is on same Path as an enemy Character, he may use the Victory Points of his adversary instead of his own.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All rules pertaining to Victory Points must be followed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How to integrate the Tokens of the Month, Holiday Special Tokens and JPC Victory Tokens:

To use a given Bonus Token, a player simply swaps it for one of the character's other Equipment Tokens (after a Pack has been chosen for that character). This does not affect whether the character's Special Object is available. That is, if a player chooses a character's Combat, Stamina, or Mental Pack and then swaps a Bonus Token for one of that Pack's Equipment Tokens, then the Special Object remains available. However, if a player chooses a custom Pack (i.e., the "á la carte" equipment option) for a character, the Special Object remains unavailable, as normal, regardless of whether Bonus Tokens are swapped in.

The only additional restriction is that each given Bonus Token — the Helm of Diomedes, for example — is limited to one instance per team.

Those scores are for the Black Sail campaign, which has finished.

Minor point, the actual french token retains the original Hungarian spelling of Elisabeth - Erzsébet.

This would be the Countess Báthory.

You would have to site where you found the spelling of Elizabeth as Elisabeth when referring to the Bloody Lady of Cachtice. From every piece of historical reference I have read, including fictional accounts of the Countess Dracula, she is always referred to as Elizabeth Bathory. About the only reference that comes to mind that spells her name as Elisabeth is the Dissection song "Elisabeth Báthory". Even a direct descendant and composer of the opera Erzsébet refers to her as Elizabeth. The actual Hungarian version of Elizabeth is Erzsébet. I had contemplated leaving Erzsébet as the title to this Token, but was afraid most would not understand the reference.

I'd go with Erzsébet it looks and sounds better and it's what ToY came up with. And anyone into their history / horror should know who Countess Báthory was anyway.

I see what you're saying. I mistook littlewars post as being concerned with the spelling of Elizabeth (z vs. s). Since this whole thread now concerns the name translation from Hungarian Erzsébet to English Elizabeth, I don't think there will be any further confusion as to what Erzsébet actually means. I have updated the above translation and added the translation after the English language section just in case people are too lazy to take notice of the rest of this thread.
