Will be making it required for anyone who wants to view any forum or thread must have an account and be signed in.

This is NOT to increase this forum's  members numbers.

It is to get people to sign up and hopefully say "thank you" the long hours of work by our members.

I do see our current registered members doing that already, but notice a high number of views in threads, if you are benefiting from another person's created material please say thank you.

I'm not sure this is really necessary.

For example, I get about 30 viewers a day on Savage Tales, but have only ever gotten a very few comments. Maybe 3 or 4, but it doesn't matter to me because I know the people are there.

Most people who read forums don't post. That's just how it is. I would rather people see what we're doing and benefit from it than have them not want to sign up and not see it.

What do the rest of you think.

I have tried to comment once but would not work  evil

so after 30 min. of swearing I gave up.

if other people think that this would only hurt your views of your creations it will be dropped (my idea that is)

Not to worried about it.

Along with what Doc stated, I feel most people are lurkers by nature. Heck the Wolf Booklet PDF I created with Hahnarama's scans has had some 350+ downloads from Board Game Geek and has yet to receive a single comment. But at least I know it is being used!

As Mal said most people are lurkers , rather than contributors. I tend to lurk rather than contribute , but that's more because I don't have the skills , talent and decent software to produce the quality output you guys come up with.

Most forums allow viewing but restrict posting to members , restricting viewing to signed up and in could be counter productive and turn people away. Some forums restrict access to downloads to signed up and in members which is maybe an alternative way to go. I don't think you should block links to official sites but you could restrict links to homebrew material (if it's technically possible to do that ).

Any forum I get any material from I join , I might not post much but I feel it's the least you can do.

I can understand where Sundance is coming from in that a lot of people are lurking and gaining from your hard efforts but Doc is right when he says if the taffic is reasonable you do know you're not waisting your time.

Lastly , I for one really do appreciate the work you guys put in.

Thank You

to Sundance , Doc , Malechi , Littlewars , Scottie Wolfe and anyone else I've forgotten.

If it wasn't for you guys I'd have lost interest in Tannhauser ages ago and gone in search of a better supported game.

ToY do a great job of supporting the French community and it's a shame they can't/don't the same for the English version cause FFG just keep taking their eye of the ball and fumbling around.
